AORN Foundation

The AORN Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational foundation, is committed to focusing on patient safety. By funding AORN's programs and services, the Foundation supports perioperative nurses by providing funding for continuing education, leadership development, patient safety, workplace safety, and new innovative programs.

The Foundation is committed to perioperative nurses pursuing expanded skills and knowledge in today's ever changing health care environment. By enhancing the profession of perioperative nursing, surgical patients will receive a commitment to patient safety from the most knowledgeable and highly skilled perioperative nurses.

Our Mission
The mission of the AORN Foundation is to secure resources and administer assets that provide support for meeting AORN's strategic goals in education, research and innovations, and partnerships in perioperative surgical care.

The Foundation also supports networking opportunities for members of the surgical team and industry executives as part of the annual Executive Symposium. This year the Symposium reconvenes to further discuss surgical patient safety with the theme: Creating a Culture of Safety.
