A nurse's education never stops. That's why the AORN Foundation awards education grants to chapters, state councils, and members and funds professional development programs, conferences, webinars, and online education. One of these programs is PeriOp101, an online course designed to introduce new nurses to perioperative practice. AORN' Leadership Conference and Perioperative Leadership Academy help nurses grow professionally through mentoring programs and leadership skills designed to help them advance in their career. AORN is continually exploring innovative methods of delivering educational content to meet the lifelong learning needs of perioperative nurses.

Complex patient needs, new advances in technology, and economic pressures are driving the need for innovative continuing education programs. The AORN Foundation provides continuing education grants to help nurses maintain competency and ensure safe, high quality patient care.
