Adding, Updating and Expanding Comprehensive Stroke
Centers
AORN members have a special, limited opportunity to receive
discounted registration to the 5th National Conference on Adding,
Updating and Expanding Comprehensive Stroke Centers for Hospitals
and Health Systems in Chicago on September 27-28. AORN is endorsing
the two-day conference where participants will learn how to
effectively develop and operate stroke care centers to deliver

discuss emerging trends and opportunities in comprehensive stroke

Patient Safety IT Summit
AORN members are invited to attend a Patient Safety IT Summit in
Washington D.C., July 19-20. AORN is endorsing the two-day summit,
which is designed to provide participants an interactive
opportunity to learn about the latest in patient safety issues,
such as implementing new technologies, leading-edge approaches to
improving healthcare quality and safety and keys to communication
hand-offs and briefings. The conference will include discussions by
senior leaders who have addressed patient safety and quality as a
strategic imperative within their organizations across the country,
including New York Healthcare Network, University of Texas Medical
school, Providence Health Center, Harvard School of Public Health
and Massachusetts General Hospital. Attendees also will have the
opportunity to meet with vendors and learn about new information
technologies.

The Joint Commission presents "Strategies for
Transplantation Safety and Quality"
As the number of transplantation surgeries performed across the
U.S. increases, so does the need for quality oversight of
facilities that perform these procedures. The Joint Commission is
sponsoring a conference that will offer a comprehensive overview of
the government's role in organ and tissue transplantation as well
as offer insight into leadership challenges and strategies to meet
The Joint Commission's certification standards.
