AORN education opportunities are designed to meet the needs of everyone from nurses who are new to the perioperative setting to RNFA's, managers, administrators, and directors, working in hospital and ambulatory settings.
Ambulatory Certificate Programs
- The ASC Administrator Certificate program is designed to provide the skills and tools needed to manage every aspect of an ambulatory facility, from daily operations to regulatory requirements. The program is a helpful tool for those interested in taking the Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) examination. The next class will be conducted in May of 2008, date and location pending.
- The ADVANCED Ambulatory Surgery Administrator Certificate program addresses the more complex issues facing ASC directors and administrators.

Ambulatory Specialty Conference
AORN offers an annual educational conference focused on the needs of ASC staff. This year's conference will take place as a two-day Ambulatory Track at the newly designed 2008 Multispecialty Conference this October in St. Louis, Missouri. Featured sessions will cover patient safety, implementing recommended practices, patient care needs, regulatory issues, and ASC management. Also conventiently offered are a number of workshops and seminars pertinent to the ASC.

AORN's Periop 101: A Core Curriculum delivers an evidence-based educational program for perioperative nurses that improves staff retention and physician satisfaction. The program creates efficiency and reduces costs for staff education while ensuring compliance within your ASC.

The education library contains an assortment of 32 videos that can be purchased in packages or individually. These videos will supply you with an educational enrichment tool for your ASC that can be utilized to enhance your orientation program and emphasize an individual commitment and professional conscience of following the recommended practices.
