The Ambulatory Surgery Division at AORN was started in
January, 2013 to meet the needs of perioperative nurses working in an
ambulatory surgery environment. Ambulatory surgery centers require nurses who
are highly skilled in patient assessment and who are able to implement a broad
range of nursing interventions in a variety of situations. AORN recognizes that
nurses working in free-standing or physician office-based surgery centers face
unique challenges. These challenges often relate to non-surgical processes and
Ambulatory Surgery Division products and services have a
strong focus on regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, risk
management, and infection prevention training.
As we continue to build on our list of products and
services, we encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments, or suggestions you may
