Northwest Georgia Chapter 1107

AORN’s network of 350 chapters serves as the grassroots of the Association and the immediate resource for supporting our members’ perioperative practice. Chapters are integral to bringing AORN’s mission, vision, and standards of practice to hospitals, health care facilities, schools of nursing, and local communities. The Chapter Excellence Awards recognize and spotlight chapter accomplishments in a variety of areas. In each size category, chapters receiving first, second, and third place scores will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards respectively. One Gold-winning chapter will be selected as Chapter of the Year representing the best submission among all size categories. A chapter may only be the recipient of the Chapter of the Year award every three years while chapters may be selected for the Chapter Excellence Awards consecutively.

  • Small (0-50 members)
  • Medium (51-150 members)
  • Intermediate (151-300 members)
  • Large (301+ members)

Guidelines for Submission
Develop a presentation in the format of your choosing that describes an outstanding project, activity, service, program, or a description of a collection of activities that your chapter conducted during the period April 1, 2007 through January 1, 2009. You may use any diverse and creative method to tell your chapter's story including video or computer presentations, posters, scrapbooks, essays, etc. The activity or project that you submit may, but is not required to, complement themes or goals established by the AORN President. Your presentation should describe the impact and outcome of your project or activity on the chapter, the community, or the profession of perioperative nursing.

The Awards Committee will evaluate chapter submissions using criteria such as:

The typed packet allows you to type in your information before printing the packet for submission. You will need to save a copy of the application to your hard drive before completion.

The Awards Committee has increased the recognition piece for winning chapters, so make sure to read the application for more information. Contact Marian Burrell at 800-755-2676, Ext. 275 if you have any questions.
