Delegate Limits & Tally Sheet
The online Delegate Selection System is now closed. All Delegate additions/deletions/changes from this point forward must be done at Congress. The Delegate Chair will need to report to the Delegate Counter, near Registration, with the Alternates/Delegates. Headquarter staff will enter the changes into the computer, print new name badges, and recode the scan cards of the people involved in the change.
Delegate Limits
- The number of Delegates (or Delegate Limit) for each Chapter is determined by a formula, which calculates Chapter size to overall AORN membership as of June 30 each year.
- Each Chapter receives one guaranteed Delegate regardless of chapter size.
- Each Chapter receives the same number of Alternates as they do Delegates. For example, if a Chapter is allowed three (3) Delegates, they may also send three (3) Alternates.
- Each Chapter receives a letter in July stating their Delegate limit. This information also can be found online.
- Chapters may choose Delegates from another Chapter to fill spots as long as their bylaws allow this process.
- Chapters receive Delegate letters in the January Chapter President's mailing explaining responsibilities at Congress for the Delegate Chair, Delegates, and Alternates. This information will also be available online.

Tally Sheet
The tally sheet is used by the State Reporter to count the number of Delegates per state, so that an accurate count can be presented to the AORN President at Roll Call during Congress.
