Committees
Welcome AORN Leadership Volunteers
In order to facilitate the Association's mission and strategic plan, as well as the needs of the profession, the AORN Board of Directors (at least annually) create committees and ad hoc task forces as they deem desirable. The President-Elect appoints the members of all committees and ad hoc task forces.
Each committee or task force consists of a chair and at least two additional members. Each committee or task force only has such powers as are specifically delegated to it by the Board of Directors. A majority of the members of the committe or task force constitutes a quorum.
Volunteering for leadership positions within AORN, including committees, task forces, and Specialty Assembly Governing Council positions, is an important part of members becoming actively involved in AORN. All members are encouraged to submit their interest to serve AORN on a national level. Your volunteer efforts are welcomed and appreciated. A full list of the current committees, chairs, board and staff liaisons, members, and charges can be downloaded from the "Supporting Documents" to the left.
Your name will be kept on file for five years to be considered for a national committee, specialty assembly, or ad hoc position. It is the responsibility of the member to send any updates to AORN (phone numbers, address changes, etc). If during this time, you want your name removed, please contact the Executive Department at AORN.
