Mass casualty events are rare for many hospitals. Mass casualty events that occur with virtually no warning or information are even rarer. When they occur, you need to be ready. This presentation will focus on the University of Colorado Hospital experience with the Aurora theatre mass shooting incident. We will discuss the resources, relationships, and results for success that we utilized and learned. We will include the timeline of events, leadership moments, and lessons learned from this experience.
