AORN's Confidence-Based Learning

When you make a critical decision in your OR, how confident are you that your decision is correct?

Patient safety depends upon making accurate, knowledgeable, and confident decisions, but many times your level of knowledge and confidence in accuracy are not the same.  AORN’s Confidence-Based Learning (CBL) meets that challenge by creating a mastery of knowledge so that you can confidently make correct decisions. 

Knowledge quality is the best predictor of a person's potential performance. The CBL modules are designed to test your own or your team's level of knowledge and level of confidence in that knowledge.  

CBL begins by determining what each learner knows and their level of confidence. As a learner progresses through the module(s), educational resources are provided to help the learner understand the correct answers to the questions that were answered incorrectly or without confidence.  The learner continues through the module(s) until they have achieved mastery which means that their knowledge is correct and their level of confidence is sure.

FREE DEMONSTRATION MODULE    
To explore how CBL works, register for the free Reducing Radiological Exposure in the Perioperative Setting module. You can earn 0.8 contact hour for successful completion of the module.

CBL MODULES
The CBL modules are based on AORN's Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices.  Each module is designed to create mastery of the knowledge in each of the designated topics.  Below is a list of the modules that are currently available for purchase:

AORN's Confidence-Based Learning is available to facilities in a Subscription format. Your facility can purchase access to all of the learning modules based on the number of students who will be using the program.
