Research and Evidence-Based Practice Posters

Research and Evidence-Based Practice Posters contibute to the understanding of research projects and to our scientific knowledge.

Posters accepted for display at Congress offer an opportunity for peers to review recent research studies and evaluate findings for applicability in their own perioperative settings around the world.

Research Posters

For Research submissions, please include the items listed under each category.
Submissions should be 250 words or less between the Purpose, Methodology, Results, and Implications fields.

Poster Title
Simple, but descriptive title for the poster
No more than 60 characters. Use Title Case (ie. My Poster for AORN). Do not use all upper or lower case.

Purpose of Project
Identify the submission as "Research" as the first item in this field.
Items to include: Research Aim and Question/Hypothesis

Methodology
Items to include:
Conceptual Model, Research Design, and A Sample

Results
Items to include: Results and Limitations

Perioperative Nursing Implications
Item to include: How this study affects perioperative nursing.

 

Evidence-Based Practice Posters

For Evidence-Based Practice submissions, please include the items listed under each category.
Submissions should be 250 words or less between the Purpose, Methodology, Results, and Implications fields.

Poster Title

Identify the submission as "Evidence-Based" as the first item in this field.
Item to include: Clinical Question

Methodology
Item to include: Method you used to answer the Clinical Question

Results
Items to include:
Synthesis of the Findings, Decision about Practice, Implementation, and Evaluation

Perioperative Nursing Implications
Item to include:
How this project affects perioperative nursing.


Poster Acceptance and Judging
The AORN Nursing Research Committee reviews the submissions and identifies the accepted posters. On-site at Congress, Volunteer members of AORN will judge the posters and give a Poster Excellence Award to several posters in the Research category and also in the Evidence-Based Practice category. The total number of awards is determined each year based on the number of accepted posters in each category.
