Submit an Education Session Proposal

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
PLEASE READ before continuing to the submission database.
Please be prepared to complete the entire online education session proposal submission at one time. Exiting the submission process at any time, prior to final completion, will cause your information to be lost. If this occurs, the entire submission process must be started from the beginning.
- Submissions that do not meet the criteria outlined in the Call for Education Session Proposals may not be reviewed.
- Each proposal is reviewed in relationship to participant input, trends in health care, and needed professional development.
- Acceptability of each proposal will be evaluated and rated on the organization and clarity of the proposal content and the relationship of the behavioral learning objectives relating to the proposal's content.
- Please be sure to spell check your proposal prior to submission.
- All submissions are retained by AORN.
- Invitations for AORN education activities are made by CPE staff members only. Other invitations are not valid.
- The contact person identified for each presentation will be informed of proposal status after the review process is complete. Telephone calls requesting a status update on proposals are discouraged.
Proposal Submission Form Items:
The information below will help you prepare the information for your submission before going to the database.
Choice of Conference(s):
You will choose one or more conferences for which you wish your submission to be reviewed. (If you choose more than one, you will receive different ID #'s for each submission, but you will only be entereing the information once).
NOTE: If you have a submission for a 90-minute Congress session and a similar proposal for a half- or full-day Intensive Workshop, please submit these separately.
Moderator Name:
You may enter the name of a colleague or friend who you would like to introduce you and your program.
Delegate Status:
You will check the box for each speaker who will also serve as a delegate (for Congress ONLY).
Speaker Information:
You must add all speakers in the original submission. You will be required to enter the contact information, education, and narrative biography for every speaker who will be included in the presentation.
Presentation Title:
Please provide a descriptive title for the presentation (35 characters or less including spaces and punctuation).
Narrative Overview:
A detailed narrative description of the presentation. (Max. of 100 words, Text only. No graphs, tables, photos, etc.).
Objectives:
Objectives are derived from the overall purpose/goal(s) of the presentation.
Objectives must be submitted to describe the learner-oriented outcomes which may be expected as a result of participation in the educational activity.
These statements describe knowledge, skills, and attitude changes that should occur upon successful completion of the activity.
Learner-oriented outcomes must be expressed in measurable terms (using measurable, behavioral verbs), must identify observable actions, and must specify one action or outcome per objective.
The number of objectives should be sufficient to accomplish the intended purpose/goal(s) of the activity.

Please note that it is not necessary, nor is it recommended, to begin an objective by saying "The participant will be able to..."

PLEASE NOTE: AORN will NOT accept a fax or e-mail version of this proposal. Education session proposals will only be accepted through the online submission process.
