8:00 am - 8:15 am 8:15 am - 9:45 am	Welcome General Session 4882 Transitioning from the OR to Business, Industry, or Consulting Patricia Mews, RN, MHA, CNOR As nurse consultants, we continually hear this question from other perioperative nurses: "How does a nurse become a Perioperative Nurse Consultant?" Some perioperative nurses are looking to business, industry, and/or consulting in their career path but are not sure if they have the skills necessary to transition into the health care corporate world. What skills are necessary to consider pursing a nurse consultant position? What talent/expertise do you already have that may be useful to industry? Where do you begin? Whom do you contact? This session will cover key elements to consider when pursuing a position as a nurse consultant. It will help to identify whether you have the qualification or expertise to fulfill a nurse consultant position, and it will also discuss how and where to get started.

10:00 am - 11:30 am	General Session 4883 Legal/Ethics Presentation Ellen Murphy, RN, MS, JD, FAAN This session will explore scenarios with possible legal or ethical ramifications that nurse consultants encounter. The speaker will review the scenario and discuss the scope of the situation within its legal and ethical contexts, appropriate responses and potential outcomes of each situation.

12:45 pm - 2:15 pm	General Session 4884 WIIFM - Change Management Patricia Connor Reynolds, RN, MSN Change creates anxiety for many people for many reasons. One reason is how individuals will be impacted not only in their work life but in their personal life as well. This presentation will help the learner understand the stages and process of change and how to cope.

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm	General Session 4885 The Sales Process from A - Z Sue Smith, RN, BSN, MHSA, CNOR & Susan Guerra, RN, MN, CNOR, CNAA  Would you like to improve your powers of persuasion? Would you like to enhance your sales techniques tool kit? Perhaps you are in a position to purchase products or services. This presentation will benefit of all these needs. Learn about the sales process and techniques. Discover new skills and knowledge that will benefit you during sales situations. Learn to identify pitfalls during the sales process. You will be able to put some of these learnings to practice by experiencing a sales scenario.
