First-time attendees absorb tips for
getting the most out of Congress week
Not even the light mist falling at 7 AM could dampen the spirits of the more than 1,800 members experiencing Congress for the first time. AORN President Mary Jo Steiert, RN, BSN, CNOR, welcomed the newcomers to the First-Time Attendee Breakfast before Opening Session. She encouraged them to "absorb everything" and be open to opportunities to learn, network, and have fun together.

Members of the Board of Directors, Exhibitors Advisory Committee, and executive staff cut the ribbon to open the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday. More than 600 exhibitors are showcasing their perioperative products and services.

Members of the Board of Directors, Exhibitors Advisory Committee, and executive staff cut the ribbon to open the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday. More than 600 exhibitors are showcasing their perioperative products and services.

Attendees entered the Arena for Opening Session on Sunday to the lively strains of The Laryngospasms, a group of singing nurse anesthestists who transformed old favorites into anesthesia- and surgery-related parodies. The atmosphere took a more formal turn as President Mary Jo Steiert, RN, BSN, CNOR, led the opening procession of AORN dignitaries, volunteers, award winners, and association partners into the room and declared the 55th AORN Congress in session.

The Awards Reception at the 55th AORN Congress catered to attendees with a sweet tooth. Reception guests began their evening with cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres before moving on to celebrate their Sweet Success.
