This fast and easy-to-use registration system has been designed especially for Congress attendees to make the registration process smooth and easy! As a bonus feature, in the event a session gets cancelled or modified, the system will provide you with an electronic session update.

Get Your Registration Materials in the Mail!
For your convenience, AORN will mail a registration packet to all registered attendees*, showing paid in full, starting on February 20, 2009.
The convenient registration packet will include: Registration confirmation, invoice copy, your badge, Attendee Bag Pickup Coupon, ribbons, and tickets to events. If you registered before February 20, 2009, you will have received a Bag Pickup Coupon with your attendee badge in the mail. Once you arrive at the conference, please present the coupon at the Bag Pick Up Counter and pick up your Attendee Conference Bag containing the conference program and other important resources. If you do not receive a registration packet prior to your departure for the conference, please contact Customer Service; we will be happy to forward a packet to you via mail or make other arrangements as necessary.
If you arrive at the conference and require a replacement badge or ticket, please visit one of the registration counters and we will be happy to assist you. For questions, please contact Customer Service at 800-755-2676, x 1.
All registrations must be received at AORN Headquarters by the dates specified in order to receive mailings and stated fees. AORN will not honor the postmark on mailed items. Early-registration date is January 26, 2009. All early registrations must be received by this date in order for you to receive the fees as advertised.
If you choose to attend any of the Intensive Workshops, you must indicate which session(s) you plan to attend at the time you send your registration to AORN. Registrations for Intensive Workshops will not be processed if sessions are not indicated. *Some exceptions apply. See Registration Categories section on this page.
Session Preference Sheet — Fill it out and you may attend Congress for FREE!
Register a little before the Early-Bird deadline, by January 16, 2009, with your completed Session Preference Sheet filled out during the online registration (for paper or fax registrations, see supporting documents PDF on this page), and you will automatically be entered into a random drawing to win a FREE Congress weekly attendee registration for Chicago, IL in March 2009.
Completion of the Session Preference Sheet is critical for accurate room assignments and helps AORN meet the proper space requirements in the convention center. As a “thank you” for your help, we are offering you a chance to win this exciting prize. Only eligible entries received by end of business January 16, 2009 (MST), are eligible to win. Eligible entries consist of a fully completed registration form PLUS a fully completed Session Preference Sheet. Registrations received without the completed Session Preference Sheet and/or after end of business on January 16, 2009 (MST), are not eligible to win. Intensive Workshops and event fees are excluded from this offer.
You will receive an email confirmation from AORN within 15 working days of receipt of your registration if you call or mail in your registration form. If you register online, you will receive an automatic confirmation to your email address; please be sure to provide a valid email address when you are registering for this event. A valid email address is required to receive the automatic confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation after 30 days, please call AORN at 800-755-2676, Ext. 1.
Hotel/Housing Reservations
Hotel reservations will be processed separately by Quality Business Systems (QBS). Remember to send your Hotel Reservation Form to QBS; otherwise, your housing form will be returned to you. AORN will not process hotel/housing requests; all requests must be sent directly to QBS.
Registration Categories:
Members: AORN standard, retired, and associate members.
Nonmembers: RNs, physicians, health care administrators, purchasing agents, and others responsible for the selection
and/or maintenance of OR equipment and supplies.
Exhibits Hall Only Registration: You may register to attend the Exhibit Hall only. "Exhibit Hall" only registrations will allow you access to the show exhibit hall ONLY. You may not attend any education, intensive, or other sessions or events with this registration type.
Press/Media: Free registration – Press pass required, must be provided onsite. This category is not eligible for advanced badge mailing.
Student: Anyone who is pursuing education leading to eligibility to sit for the registered nurse licensing exam. Students cannot register online and are asked to call Customer Service at 800-755-2676, x 1, or visit the registration counters at Congress in Chicago. Online registration is NOT available . Please have student ID available at time of registration.
Faculty: Full-time faculty personnel of schools of nursing. Part-time and adjunct faculty are not eligible for complimentary registration. Online registration is not available for this category.
International Attendees: International attendees are not eligible for advanced badge mailing. Registration packets will be available at the registration counters in Chicago, IL upon check-in at the conference.
Intensive Workshops – Special Registration Requirements
• Group discount for Intensive Workshop registration is not available.
• Student discount for Intensive Workshop registration is not available.
• Speaker registration discount for Intensive Workshop registration is not available.
• Full-time faculty discount for Intensive Workshop registration is not available.
• Registration transfers are allowed for the Intensive Workshops with a $25 transfer fee per transfer.
• All other Congress registration processes, rules, and restrictions apply.
Spouse/Guest Information
Attendees’ spouses or guests may attend the Opening Session; Peers Lectureship; exhibits on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; and Closing Session. The fee for a spouse or guest is listed on the registration form. There is no individual pricing for any of the components listed above. Please fill out a separate registration form for each spouse/guest. Children under 16 years of age may not attend Congress events. Contact Hours are not available with this registration category.
Group Discount
To take advantage of this group discount (Intensive Workshops excluded), submit three or more registration forms at the same time with only one check or one credit card number. For example, if three registrations are sent in together for the entire week of Congress, at the early member rate, the one check must be $1500 (3 x $500), plus any additional fees for items selected, such as the Awards Dinner or Closing Celebration. Incorrect amounts will be held until remaining remittance is received. The discount applies only to the weekly fee for Congress. The group pricing is for members and is only available during the early registration period (received by January 26, 2009). It is not available to nonmembers or anytime after January 26, 2009. Weekly, Group, Daily (Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday) registration for any of the above listed categories also includes exhibits. Weekly and Group registrations entitle the registrant to all three days of the exhibits. Daily registration for Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday entitles the registrant to attend the exhibits for the day(s) you are registered.
Cancellation Policy
For all Congress cancellations received in writing by February 20, 2009. AORN will be happy to refund your registration fee minus a $50 administrative fee. A $20 administrative fee will be deducted from your refund for Intensive Workshop cancellations. Intensive Workshops and events are held on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, 2009. Registration fees will not be refunded on cancellation requests received after February 20, 2009. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing.
Registration Transfers
Registrations may be transferred to an alternative participant for a $25 transfer fee. To complete the transfer of your registration to another person in your organization, please send a written request to AORN, explaining the change on your organization’s official letterhead to:

AORN will contact you if additional fees apply to the new registrant because his or her membership status differs from the original registrant registration. If the original registration was paid at the AORN member rate, the new registrant must be a member, or join at the time of transfer.
Badge Replacement Fee
A badge replacement fee of $25 will be assessed to replace lost or stolen badges.
Military Registrants
To enable AORN to process a registration paid for with a government-issued credit card, please call 800-472-1424 to obtain preapproval for your Congress registration fee. Visit the AORN website at aorn.org/Congress for more information.
Exhibitor Materials/Expo Card
If you would like to receive the latest updates and related mailings from Congress advertisers and exhibitors via email, please check the appropriate box on your registration form authorizing us to share your email address as part of the information available on the Expo Card used at the conference.
