Founded in 1991, the AORN Foundation exists to support you — the perioperative nurse — and raise funds to educate and prepare a new generation of surgical nurses for the challenges to come. Stop at the Foundation booth during Congress and support the future of perioperative nursing. Donations from AORN members, chapters, state councils, industry, and other organizations and individuals are the lifeblood of the AORN Foundation. Your donation is important to the Foundation. While visiting the Foundation booth, you can obtain information about the Foundation’s programs and goals, as well as scholarship and grant opportunities. Visit the Foundation booth and pick up your T-shirt and registration package and register for the Foundation’s 11th 5K Run/Walk. Tickets for Monday evening’s Denim & Diamonds event can be purchased at the registration counters.

Individual Tickets: $50 if purchased by February 28, 2009; $60 after that date. Don’t miss out! Join us for a fabulous night of fun and dancing to a great band. Last year the event sold out, and tickets are expected to go fast. This event provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate with friends and network with customers and business associates. Dress in your finest denim or formal attire for this event. Cocktails (cash bar) and hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 7:30 pm. Proceeds from this event support the various AORN Foundation programs. Tickets are nonrefundable.





11th AORN Foundation 5K Run/Walk for Patient Safety
Wednesday, March 18, 6 am

Registration Fee: $25 if registered by February 28, 2009; $30 after that date; includes a T-Shirt. Register now to “Run/Walk for Patient Safety!” Join your fellow Congress attendees for this fun event. There is a runner’s class (3.1 miles) and walker’s class (1.5 miles). Awards will be given to overall male and female fi nishers in each class and to the top three finishers in each male and female age category for both classes. Sign up early to reserve your T-shirt. Proceeds from this event support the various AORN Foundation programs. Registration is nonrefundable. Don’t miss out on this exciting event! AORN Foundation Silent Auction
Make plans to visit the AORN Foundation's Silent Auction. Take advantage of this great opportunity to do a little shopping and support the AORN Foundation at the same time. All proceeds from the auction support the various Foundation programs. Visit aorn.org/AORN Foundation for further details.

Do you need financial help attending Congress? Grant applications are now available.  An application and overview of the 2009 Congress Education Grant can be found to your left under Supporting Documents. The Congress Education Grant deadline is January 19, 2009. Winners will be notified the week of February 9th, 2009.
