Informational Material

AORN Informational Material presents the latest clinical issues, practical information, and best practices to promote safety and increase optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. These educational learning activities are typically free and are available for use individually or can be shared and posted for use by all staff members.

This free independent study learning activity will provide the periopertive RN with practical information about a variety of topical hemostatic products available in today's perioperative settings.

The video “Topical Hemostatic Products” and informational charts (PDFs) are intended to be used together to increase knowledge about topical hemostatic agents' characteristics, preparation techniques, and clinical considerations to promote positive patient outcomes.

Instructions: 

      Step 1.  The video and the informational charts (below) are intended to be used together as a learning activity for perioperative RNs. 

     Step 2.  Watch the video“Topical Hemostatic Products” and refer to the coagulation cascade and informational charts.
