Perioperative Nurse Week

Perioperative Nurse Week  (November 11-15, 2013) is a time to recognize and honor perioperative nurses for their important role and commitment to safe patient care.

How Can I Get Involved?

Honor Your Staff, Colleagues and Friends

Celebrate your perioperative colleagues and friends with a memento from the AORN Gift Store or make an honorary donation to the AORN Foundation.

Show Your Commitment to Patient Safety

Help raise awareness of the importance of adhering to AORN Standards and Recommended Practices to ensure safe patient care. Commit to supporting a "Time Out" for Every Patient, Every Time. You can also tell your Facebook friends how proud you are to be a perioperative nurse. Simply make a donation to the Foundation and you'll receive the Periop Nurse Week image for your Facebook Timeline.

Engage the Future of Perioperative Nursing

Create community awareness of the perioperative role in patient safety. Visit local schools to create understanding of and interest in perioperative nursing. New resources, tips and member success stories are available to help you connect with middle and high school students.

Advocate for Perioperative Nurses

Send a letter to your elected official(s) to educate them about perioperative nurses. One of the most effective methods for influencing public policy is direct communication between constituents and elected officials.
