This seminar series is designed for the registered perioperative nurse as a full-day program in both a classroom and interactive format. The morning education session presents the appropriate use of hemostatic agents and surgical wound classification. In the afternoon, nurses participate in a comprehensive Hemostasis Wet Lab and learn how to apply hemostatic agents and gain an understanding of the various methods for treating wounds.
The program consists of a complimentary breakfast, morning education session, complimentary lunch, and at the conclusion of the morning CE session, an optional hands-on demo session.

- Describe the clotting cascade
- Identify the questions to include during the assessment process for any surgical patient
- Compare the five categories of hemostatic agents
- Differentiate the four classes of surgical wounds
- Describe treatment options for class II, III, and IV surgical wounds

Speaker: Margaret “Peggy” Camp, MSN, RN
Margaret "Peggy" Camp, MSN, RN, is currently an independent consultant. She was the clinical resource director for the Continental Division of HCA, the Healthcare Company for the past 11 years. Camp has published various articles on perioperative nursing and has been a contributing author for several nursing texts on perioperative nursing.
