Webinar FAQs

Get answers to your questions regarding AORN's educational webinars.

What is the benefit of the webinar format?

AORN webinars present the latest clinical and management issues, perioperative news, and best practices in an online format. Live webinars let you ask questions and get answers in real time; recorded webinars can be conveniently accessed at any time.

What if I can't attend the live webinar?

If you register for an upcoming (live) webinar and are not able to attend, you will receive a link to the recording within two business days of the live webinar. Recorded webinars are available for you to view at your convenience.

Will I get handouts for a webinar I register for?

Most webinar handouts are sent, if available, in the login email you receive just prior to the live webinar. Handouts will be resent along with a link to the recorded webinar two business days after the live session. If you've registered for a replay, please contact customer service at custsvc@aorn.org to have the handouts emailed to you.

What equipment do I need?

A computer with internet access. For audio, you may dial in using a telephone or use the audio button at the top of the participant window to use your computer.

Are AORN webinars free?

AORN webinars are free or at a low cost for AORN members. There is a low-cost charge for non-members.

I work in a busy perioperative services department. How can we use AORN webinars for educational activities for our team members?

  • Have one person register for the webinar in advance. He or she will receive an email with instructions to access the webinar.

  • Send a meeting flyer to your team members, noting the webinar topic, date, time, and the location where you will gather.

  • Make arrangements for a meeting room with audio/visual equipment: a computer with internet access, connected to a projector, a screen, and speakers.

  • Show the webinar on the screen. Everyone can watch the webinar together.

I went to a meeting where an AORN webinar was presented. How do I get my contact hours?

If there are contact hours awarded for the webinar, each RN who would like to receive contact hours needs to register for the webinar. Please go to Webinars, then select and register for the webinar that you attended. Each person will receive an email to access the webinar. Once you have registered, you can obtain the contact hours. Go to My AORN > Manage your Education > Webinar Replay. Select the webinar and complete the evaluation for the webinar. Once this is done you can print your certificate.

Can I stop and restart a recorded webinar?

Yes, you can pause a recorded webinar at any time.

Who do I contact if I have a question or need help registering?
