Board of Directors proposes changes to support AORN’s future

After a weekend of activities in Denver, attendees of AORN’s annual Leadership Conference went home with new ideas on topics of teamwork, collaboration and where technology and reform might take healthcare in the future.
AORN board revises hand hygiene recommended practice
AORN has revised terminology in its recently published “Recommended Practices for Hand Hygiene in the Perioperative Setting” to account for the multiple regulatory paths related to hand hygiene products.
New association package with pediatric group
AORN is collaborating with the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association (APSNA) to offer members the opportunity to receive benefits offered by each association.
Foundation supports new Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit
The 2009 revision of the Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit is now available. This resource was made possible by support from the AORN Foundation, with charitable contributions from ETHICON Inc. and the 3M Foundation.

Social network Facebook has enough subscribers to fill a large country. But contrary to what one might expect with such a large population, it is sometimes difficult to connect and share with people of the same profession, specialty or common interests. Launching at the end of the summer, AORN’s OR Nurse Link could change that.
