Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit
The 2009 revision of the Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit is now available. This resource was made possible by support from the AORN Foundation, with charitable contributions from ETHICON Inc. and the 3M Foundation. The tool kit contains a variety of resources to educate healthcare providers about the Universal Protocol and to assist them with its implementation. The Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit includes sample videos demonstrating time out procedures, a downloadable pocket guide and policy and checklist templates.
AORN members may download the Correct Site Surgery Tool Kit documents and earn one free contact hour for successfully completing the Independent Study and the Learner Evaluation. Non-members are invited to join AORN to access this and six other patient safety tool kits in addition to all other benefits of AORN membership.
The AORN Foundation proudly supports perioperative nurses through funding these patient safety resources. Additionally, the Foundation offers support through scholarships, research projects, and educational resources. Because membership dues do not fund these programs, the Foundation relies on donations to ensure that these resources remain available. Visit the AORN Foundation online to find out more about available resources and “Support the Nurses Who Make Surgery Safe.”
