Advancing your news Connections
By Carina Stanton and Matt Gunn
AORN News Editors
New healthcare technologies, research and practice updates emerge on a daily basis and AORN’s news editors work hard to provide AORN members with the news you need.
Looking back over the past year we reflect on the new methods we have established to connect you to perioperative news, including the use of information technology to improve the way you receive perioperative news. In March, we launched an online version of Connections at aorn.org/news. You can access all AORN news from this site, including AORN Connections, the management-focused AORN Management Connections, and AORN Advocacy Update. We also use this online news source to provide interactive news experiences, such as video Web casts and our new audio series, Perioperative News Minute—a news briefing of perioperative news you can listen to.
In the year ahead we plan to continue improving the way you receive perioperative news from AORN. In early January you will begin receiving AORN Connections via an e-mail directing you to the online version of the publication you also receive in the mail. Later in the month of January you will receive an e-mail with the newly designed AORN Management Connections. Both e-mails will direct you to online news sources that feature interactive news offerings, such as videos, audio podcasts and other features to promote open discussion with perioperative practitioners.
These improved news resources are member benefits designed to get you the news you need to stay ahead of the ever-changing world of healthcare. As we launch these improved news offerings, we want to know what you think and what we can do to make your AORN news experience even better. Talk to us by sending an email to aornnews@aorn.org.
We look forward to hearing from you.
