AORN launches online CE programAORN Journal online continuing education library makes it easier to earn needed CE contact hours

A simple Google search for perioperative education will produce a variety of online opportunities to earn continuing education (CE) contact hours. But, is the CE from a reliable source, is it recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and is it OR-focused? These are the questions many perioperative professionals face as they seek online professional education.
Now this process is much easier through a new AORN Journal online CE library and testing program. For only $5 per CE contact hour, members can access AORN's online CE library, search for the CE they need, take the test online and get immediate results and a printed certificate.
"We understand that perioperative professionals need a convenient way to earn credible CE that will advance their practice. That's why this AORN Journal online CE library connects them to AORN's CEs in a fast, convenient way," said Susan Bakewell, RN, MS, BC, director, AORN Center for Perioperative Education.
The library includes the CE articles that appeared each month for the past three years in the AORN Journal, a trusted source for ANCC-accredited continuing education, Bakewell added. "But now, members don't need to find the article in print, take the test, mail it to AORN and then wait for results. With this online library, they can test, get results and print their CE certificate at their convenience, day or night."
Non-members can also access AORN's online CEs for a fee of $10 per CE contact hour.
