Congress grants available
January 2009
The AORN Foundation has $500 travel grants for first-time Congress attendees and other Congress attendees to attend AORN’s 56th annual Congress in Chicago, March 14-19. Grants are supported by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI), Exhibitors’ Advisory Committee, and the Integra Foundation. Deadline to apply is January 19, 2009. Buy a 2009 Congress ornament to support nursing

New Foundation director
November 2008
The AORN Foundation welcomed a familiar face in September, following Twilla Barlow's appointment to serve as AORN Foundation director.
Barlow has been an AORN staff member since 1994, working in the Foundation as development specialist before taking on her most recent position as director of corporate relations for AORN since 2002.
Serving in her new role as Foundation director, Barlow's first step will be to get members more involved in Foundation work, not only by making donations, but also by participating in Foundation events and activities.
"Every AORN member has a vested interest in their Foundation, because it supports the scholarships, programs and opportunities that help perioperative nurses provide safe patient care," Barlow said.
She added that the Foundation needs member involvement now more than ever to support the Foundation's "Join OuR Heroes" endowment campaign.

New way to donate

The AORN Foundation is pleased to announce the option to set up automatic monthly withdrawals to make Foundation contributions. The minimum monthly withdrawal is $5 per month, which would be an annual contribution of $60. For more information contact the Foundation at 800-755-2676 or Foundation@aorn.org.
