Finance 101 Presentation

Nurse leaders control the largest part of a hospital labor budget, and in some cases the largest part of the overall budget. Overseeing this responsibility can mean the difference between an organization’s financial stability and turmoil. This full-day program will provide nurse leaders education on key financial concepts necessary for effectively managing the financial performance of perioperative services.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain measurements used by organizations to demonstrate financial health.
  2. List and explain the process for justification of capital equipment
  3. Identify causes for variation in budgeted versus actual spending
  4. Calculate FTE need, including staffing mix and benefit time relief
