Personal Assistance
- Reference Service
- AORN librarians answer basic factual questions for members using readily available sources.
- Literature Search Service
- Librarians answer more complex questions applying their unique knowledge of information resources - print and electronic - to provide the information needed.
- A search printout (sent by email, fax, or mail) provides a list of references. Note: In order to comply with copyright guidelines, the Library is unable to provide copies of journal articles. The AORN Journal is free online for members, and we encourage members to visit their hospital or university libraries to obtain other journal articles. Libraries of all types (including public libraries) also offer interlibrary loan services to help you obtain articles from journals they do not own.
- Other resources
- Checking local library resources is also recommended.
- Most hospitals, health science centers, and university libraries also offer personal assistance with literature searches. Many of these are free of charge.
