AORN's classic resource for perioperative practice - Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices, 2008 Edition - brings together all of the Association's official positions and recommendations in one unique volume from professional practice standards to laser safety, from competency statements to aseptic technique, from clinical pathways to patient safety.

Formerly titled Standards, Recommended Practices, and Guidelines, this classic resource's 2008 edition features a new guideline on malignant hyperthermia and eight new or revised Recommended Practices approved by the 2007 House of Delegates.

Updated content also includes revised recommended practices for environmental cleaning, moderate sedation, safe environment of care, unplanned perioperative hypothermia, patient positioning, sterilization, skin prep, and surgical instruments and powered equipment.

The CD-ROM version of the book, which includes printing, copy/paste, search, and many other useful capabilities, also is available. The CD-ROM can be purchased as a stand-alone or at a special package price with the print version.
