What are the benefits of the eBook?

  • The content is electronic – This allows you to access the content from a computer at any time making it easier to reference. 
  • The content is searchable – The search features of the eBook allow you to search the content for every occurrence of a particular term or phrase.
  • The content is printable – If you still like to reference the material in a hard copy format, you can print the content of the eBook as needed.

How will I receive my eBook?
Once you have purchased your eBook, AORN’s Customer Service Department will send you an order confirmation with a downloadable URL link. 

How do I view the eBook?
Contents of the eBook are viewable through Adobe® Digital Editions, a free and simple download.  In order to download the eBook to your computer, you must first download and install v. 1.7.1 of Adobe® Digital Editions.

How do I download Adobe® Digital Editions?
The Adobe® Digital Editions download is available at www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ or you can click here to download this free software.  Look for “Next Steps” on the right side of the screen for download information. Once you have completed the download, you will have an Adobe® Digital Editions icon on your desktop.  You will use this icon when you access your eBook. 

Note:
If you are planning to download the eBook to a workplace computer, you may need to seek assistance from your network administrator.

How long am I able to access the eBook?
The eBook is available to you until it is deleted from your computer.  Please note that you may only download it once. 

Is it possible to access the eBook from both my work and home computer?
Yes, you can access your eBook on up to six computers through Adobe® Digital Edition’s content portability.  You can enable content portability when you first download Adobe® Digital Editions.  You will be prompted to authorize the application by entering an Adobe ID. If you do not have an Adobe ID, you are provided with a link to get one.  Then, when you purchase your eBook, the item is automatically tied to your Adobe ID rather than your computer.  With the Adobe ID, you are free to move your eBook to up to six computers and devises that have been authorized with Digital Editions.

Note: The eBook is an individual purchase.  It is not intended for multiple users.

Why are copy and paste not features of the eBook?
Copy and paste are not features of the eBook because of Copyright infringement laws.  To protect electronic material and content, copy and paste are not included as features of electronic products.

How do I obtain permissions and reprints for content from AORN’s Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices?
