Fire Evacuation Planning Software

For a limited time, AORN is providing fire evacuation planning software through a licensing agreement with SmartDraw. This robust tool will help you create floor plan schematics and an evacuation plan. It includes a user-friendly wizard to guide you through the process and a comprehensive help menu.

Utilize this program to design existing unit specific schematics, identify fire zones, firewall and burn ratings, evacuation routes, fire extinguisher locations, and much more. Include equipment/structural barriers, firewall(s), and horizontal and vertical pathways

Here are some quick tips to get you started:

Step 1: Size room & add interior walls - Start with the outside dimensions of the room and then add interior walls. Work with the engineering department to include firewalls and burn ratings.

Step 2: Add doorways and windows to the floor plan by clicking on the symbol on the tool bar and dragging it onto the floor plan. Resize and rotate symbols by dragging the shaping tools.

Step 3: Add furnishing to the floor plan by selecting the Symbols Tab and choosing an icon from one of the library files. Suggested library files for evacuation planning include facility management, fire and emergency planning, and evacuation. Browse through the symbol library to find items relevant to your plan.
