Grassroots Advocacy Handbook

The Government Affairs Department has prepared a tool for AORN members to use to effectively influence public policy through lobbying efforts and grassroots networking.

This tool is AORN's Grassroots Advocacy Handbook. This tool provides a general overview of activities that AORN members can get involved in to advance a public policy initiative before the state or federal legislature.

Sections within the Handbook include:

      1) Definitions and descriptions of lobbying activities
      2) Explanations regarding how a single AORN member can affect public policy
      3) How to organize and mobilize a grassroots network
      4) How to access legislative information
      5) How to communicate by email/letters, phone calls, and personal visits with legislators
      6) How to access the Government Affairs Department for assistance in lobbying efforts
