Benefits of State Councils
State councils serve as liaisons for perioperative nursing's relationships within the state, including with state nursing organizations, schools of nursing, state hospital and medical associations, and state boards of nursing. State councils provide educational opportunities at the state level and increase timely information sharing with rural communities. |
Benefits to Chapters
State councils increase communication between chapters on legislative and other important issues within the state. They provide an avenue for chapter leaders to gain additional leadership experience. State Councils also encourage local endorsement of patient safety issues and evidence-based practice. |
