CHAPTER 4. PATIENT SERVICES
Section 10. Surgery Department.
A surgery department shall be provided commensurate with the needs of the community and medical staff capabilities.
a. There shall be written policies and procedures covering staffing, records, consultation, cleaning procedures, supplies, dress attire, emergency situations, legal procedures, specimens, and recovery of patients.
(1) The surgical suite shall be supervised by an experienced registered professional nurse.
(3) Surgical technicians and licensed practical nurses permitted to serve as "scrub nurses" under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse shall not be permitted to function as the circulating nurse in the operating room.
