Cultural Awareness Tool Kit

Perioperative registered nurses provide nursing care to a diverse population of patients. Perioperative RNs should consider and be respectful of each patient’s value system, lifestyle, ethnicity, and culture when planning care in the perioperative setting.¹ A variety of resources are offered related to planning care for a culturally diverse population of surgical patients.
