AORN Foundation and Halyard Health Join Forces for the 25th Anniversary Finale

Publish Date: November 15, 2016

As the AORN Foundation brings its 25th Anniversary year to a close, we reflect on the people and companies that have made it possible to continue our mission. The success of the AORN Foundation relies greatly upon donations made by these individuals and the support of our industry partners.

In 2016, the AORN Foundation gave $160,000 in academic scholarships, assisted 195 people to attend the AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo in Anaheim, and had a record year with its silent auction with over $75,000 in donations. The Guidelines Implementation Workshop Series, Financial Management Seminars, and the Nurse Executive Leadership Series, also funded through the Foundation by industry partners, brought meaningful networking opportunities and unique educational material to many perioperative nurses across the nation.

One of the AORN Foundation’s loyal partners is Halyard Health, who has given a substantial gift to the Foundation each fall beginning in 2011. Halyard Health, formerly Kimberly-Clark, is a medical technology company whose mission is to advance health and health care by preventing infection, eliminating pain, and speeding recovery. Halyard’s vision as a company directly supports AORN’s goals and mission to promote safety and optimal outcomes for patients. This combined objective has created an industry partnership that brings unparalleled value to both organizations. The company has once again committed to supporting the Foundation, and beginning November 1st, Halyard Health will match every donation up to $20,000 through the end of the year. This generous matching gift encourages individual giving and assists the Foundation in continuing to support the nurses who make surgery safe.

We would like to thank Halyard Health and each and every donor for allowing us to fulfill our mission for the past 25 years.
