2020 - 2021 AORN Scholarship Recipients
Mary Starks BS, RN
Natalie Cloud Eberle RN, BSN
“I would like to express my appreciation for receipt of the 2020 AORN Scholarship. I know there were many qualified applicants for this scholarship and I am grateful to have been selected as the award recipient. Balancing work, school, and family is truly a difficult task. The financial assistance that this scholarship provides makes managing that balance a little easier. Pursuing a Doctorate in Nursing Practice represents a significant time and financial investment. I believe that completing this degree will prepare me to be a skilled healthcare provider, prepared healthcare leader, and dedicated patient advocate. Upon degree completion, I intend to pursue a career in cardiac procedural care. Additionally, I hope to contribute to the current nurse leaders working to make healthcare more accessible to Americans.
I would not be able to complete this undertaking without your generous support. Thank you for making this scholarship available and supporting the future of nursing.”
It is because of generous individual contributions and corporate giving that we are able to provide nurses with these resources to help reach their goals:
- Academic scholarships
- Professional development grants
- Seminars for leadership and clinical nurse education
- Research grants
AORN President Missi Merlino sponsored grants for three grateful nurses so they could attend the AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo.
