Volunteer members share their time and knowledge to advance AORN's mission as well as their own careers. Through their work with AORN committees, specialty assemblies, and national leadership, volunteers help shape AORN's standards, practice recommendation, and educational opportunities. There are several ways perioperative professionals can volunteer with AORN.
Community
Connect with colleagues in your professional specialty through AORN's specialty assemblies, network with members of your local AORN chapter and state council, or connect virtually via Facebook or ORNurseLink, AORN's online perioperative community.
Volunteer
AORN is only as strong as the volunteer members who contribute their knowledge and time to the association. Learn how to get involved with AORN committees and advocacy efforts.
Governance
AORN is governed by an elected board of directors and by member appointed delegates who serve in AORN’s house of delegates. These delegates oversee and vote to update and modify AORN’s Bylaws, which include criteria for membership, descriptions of elections, terms of office, and more. AORN’s Nominating and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) serves to shape AORN’s future leaders and the association’s annual ballot for national office.
