Preoperative Care in the ASC

Preoperative nursing care in the ambulatory center (ASC) is an important aspect of the patient’s ambulatory care experience. Preoperative assessment criteria are used to determine whether a patient ‘s admittance into the center is appropriate. A thorough preoperative assessment contributes to positive patient outcomes and safety.

On completion of this module the learner will be able to:

  2. Identify critical preoperative risk factors
  3. Describe a patient education plan
