Overview

The webinar will discuss how the number of persons in the OR and procedural suites, and the number of door openings can affect the air contamination rate in the OR and procedural suites. The presenters will provide guidance on how to monitor and decrease traffic and door openings in the OR and procedural suites.

  • Describe how the number of personnel in the OR and procedural suites and door openings may affect the rate of surgical site infections.
  • Discuss objective measuring tools (eg, door counters) to monitor traffic and door openings in the OR and procedural suites.
  • Discuss strategies (eg, supply storage & delivery) to reduce traffic and decrease the number of door openings in the OR and procedural suites.
