Alex Sheen founded the social movement and non-profit organization, because I said I would., which is dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. After losing his father, Sheen started sending free “promise cards” (which hold people accountable to a commitment) to anyone who requested them. In the last 10 years, his company has sent more than 13 million cards to almost 180 countries.
Some of Sheen’s promises have included walking 245 miles across Ohio in 10 days, volunteering at 52 different nonprofit organizations in a single year, and donating almost $5 million in speaker fees to charity.
Sheen is also a five-time Tedx Talk speaker, and because of his work, has appeared on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, and more.
