Perioperative Educators Can Earn Certificate of Mastery

If you are new to the educator role at your facility or looking to fine tune your skills, this is a workshop you won’t want to miss. Through course pre-work, onsite instruction, and break-out sessions, gain the knowledge and tools needed to provide exceptional orientation and professional development opportunities for the entire perioperative team. This workshop is presented by CCI and will cover:
- Instructional Design—adult learning principles, educational activity design, implementation strategies, and evaluation tools
- Staff Development—educator role, orientation best practices, competency development, and policies and procedures
- Personal and Professional Development—competencies for the perioperative educator, promoting professional practices
- Research—evidence-based practice in the perioperative environment, problem identification, and research utilization
Course pre-work and onsite attendance are required to earn CE. After completing the program and post-assessment, attendees will receive a Perioperative Professional Educator Certificate of Mastery and earn 20 continuing education contact hours.
Attendees must pre-register. Separate fee required.

Dawn Whiteside, MSN (Ed), RN-BC, CNOR, RNFA Director of Education, CCI
Dawn is a perioperative nurse with 30 years of experience and has been employed as an educator and manager for much of her career. Her present role as a director of education at CCI allows her to oversee and develop educational materials for all CCI certifications.
Julie Mower, MSN, RN, CNS, CNS-CP, CNOR, Manager, Education Development, CCI
Julie has been a nurse manager at CCI since 2008. A perioperative nurse for over 30 years, her background includes education in both the clinical and academic settings. Julie assists in the development of certification exam study aids and is the lead for the CNS-CP® specialty certification exam.
This course is pending approval for 20 continuing education contact hours by CCI. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 15613.
