- Strategies for incorporating evidence-based practices into staff development programs
- Collaboration techniques when serving as a perioperative subject matter expert with personnel in other departments

About the Speakers
Dawn Whiteside, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR
Dawn is a perioperative nurse with 30 years of experience and has been employed as an educator and manager for much of her career. Her present role as a Director of Education at CCI allows her to oversee and develop educational materials for all CCI certifications.
Emily H. Jones, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR
Emily has been a perioperative nurse for over 18 years and is currently a Senior Education Coordinator with the Advanced Surgical Technology and Education Center (ASTEC) with the Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. She has been engaged in education and leadership within the OR to include clinical educator, services leader, charge nurse, and nurse manager since 2004. Her responsibilities involve successful coordination and evaluation of service-line specific clinical competencies and perioperative-wide educational offerings. She is involved in curriculum development and skill assessments for multiple groups in the OR environment including MDs, RNs, PAs/FAs, STs, and students. Within AORN, Emily has served as a member and Chair of the Simulation Task Force, and member of the Periop 101 Advisory Board. Emily strives to optimize patient outcomes through the use of simulation to enhance education for perioperative interprofessional teams.
Julie Mower, MSN, RN, CNS, CNS-CP, CNOR
Julie has been a Nurse Manager at CCI since 2008. A perioperative nurse for over 30 years, her background includes education in both the clinical and academic settings. Julie assists in the development of certification exam study aids and is the lead for the CNS-CP specialty certification exam.
After completing the program and post-assessment, attendees will receive a certificate of mastery and earn 6.5 contact hours.
This workshop is presented in collaboration between AORN and CCI.
