Hook Patients Up in Pre-Op
Our admitting RN places cardiac leads and blood pressure cuffs on patients in pre-op during patient admission, saving time in procedural areas. We have enough leads and cuffs in the pre-post unit to do this with every patient. When the patient arrives in the procedural area, all we have to do is connect the monitors to the patient. We used to wait until the patient was in the room to hook up the leads and cuffs. We’d also have to clean them between patients.
