SCHEDULE BOARD
All Systems Go
We’ve added a column on the schedule board labeled prep. The pre-op RN places a check in this column to indicate that the patient is completely ready for surgery (VS WNL, NPO, driver present, IV started). Only after they see the checkmark do the techs open the OR and sterile supplies for the case. This eliminates wasting supplies and saves time.
