PRE-OP PREP
Antibiotics On Time, Every Time

Here's a way to make sure your surgical patients get their antibiotics on time. We have the pre-op admitting nurse put a bright yellow laminated card that says "needs abx" on the patient's bed tray. That way, the OR nurse knows to administer antibiotics as soon as the patient is being taken to the OR. We've been doing it for years now, and the system works extremely well.
