ALLERGIES
Latex-Free Tackle Box

To safeguard patients with a latex allergy, store all of their surgical supplies in a latex-free tackle box that will follow the patient from pre-op to the OR and then to PACU. Also include a latex allergy sign that you can place at the patient's bedside or on the OR door, says Kathryn Loretta Rice, RNFA, CNOR, BSN, administrator of the Gwinnett Surgery Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Rolling Stop
Privacy When And Where You Need It

To prevent staff members from opening a curtain during bedside procedures or when a patient is dressing, hang this handy privacy stop sign on a rolling IV pole. It prevents interruptions and sends a powerful message to patients and professionals that patient dignity and privacy is a priority in your center. You can easily adjust the sign height on the pole, and you can store the sign at the nurses' station when not in use. Construction is easy: Punch 2 holes at the top of a laminated sign and rip tie loops to quickly convert any rolling IV pole into a stop sign you can position in front of a curtain.
