NIOSH releases update to list of antineoplastic and other hazardous drugs

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Alert: Preventing Occupational Exposures to Antineoplastic and Other Hazardous Drugs in Health Care Settings, which was originally published in 2004, has had 26 drugs added to its list of major hazardous drugs. The additions are new or existing drugs that had new warnings from 2007 to 2009.1 The Federal Register describes the review process for new additions to the list.
