eBook General Questions

What devices can I use to view the eBook?
Answer: AORN eBooks can be viewed using the following devices. Learn more about system requirements.

  • iOS (Apple) devices including: iPhone, iPad, iPod
  • Android devices including: phones and tablets
  • PC/Windows devices including: computers, laptops, phones, tablets
  • Mac devices including computers and laptops
  • AORN eBooks are not available on Blackberry devices

Can I use a Kindle or Nook for my eBooks?
Answer: No. AORN does not support eBooks on any eReader device at this time (Amazon Kindle or Barnes & Noble Nook). 

How many devices can I download an eBook to?
Answer: You may select up to two devices per eBook purchase. 

What is the file size of the download?
Answer: The AORN eBook is 12.4 MB with the interactive videos. You may choose to download the interactive videos upon initial download, or individually stream them at a later time.

How do I purchase AORN eBooks?
Answer: You may purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog. Upon eBook purchase, you will receive an email with download and activation instructions for your favorite devices.  

Can I download eBooks?
Answer: It is not possible to download eBooks directly from AORN. You must purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog, then download the appropriate App for your intended device, then activate your account using your username and password. 

I forgot my username and password. How do I log in to my eBook?
Answer: Once you've purchased an eBook, your AORN username and password will activate your account. You can reset your password if needed. Once you enter your username and password, you will not be required to log in again.

How do I get updates to subscription-based eBooks?
Answer: All updates will automatically be pushed to your device for the life of the subscription. Once your subscription ends, you will not receive additional updates. You will have to purchase the eBook again (through the AORN Product Catalog) to access the most up-to-date eBook and continue receiving updates.

Can I return an eBook?
Answer: No. Once an eBook is activated, you cannot return it.

Can I purchase AORN eBooks through the Apple App Store?
Answer: No, you must purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog. You may download the free AORN eBooks App through the App Store, however you cannot purchase eBooks through the App.

I downloaded the AORN eBooks App from the App Store. How do I get the eBooks?
Answer: You must purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog, then activate your account using your username and password.

I'm new to iTunes/iOS App Store. What do I need to know?
Answer: The App Store is a place where you can download new applications for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can browse the App Store on your computer with iTunes, or by tapping App Store on your device. For more information, check out the App Store Frequently Asked Questions page.

Do I need to sign up for a new account to shop the App Store?
Answer: If you already have an iTunes Store account, you can shop the App Store. If you do not have an iTunes Store account, you can create one using iTunes. You can also create an iTunes Store account directly from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Can I purchase AORN eBooks through Google Play?
Answer: No, you must purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog. You may download the free AORN eBooks App through Google Play, however you cannot purchase eBooks through the App.

I downloaded the AORN eBooks App from Google Play. How do I get the eBooks?
Answer: You must purchase eBooks from the AORN Product Catalog, then activate your account using your username and password.

I'm new to Google Play. How do I download apps?
Answer: The Google Play Store app comes installed on supported mobile devices that run Android OS version 2.2 (Froyo) and above. If you have an older Android device, you'll use the Android Market app instead of the Google Play Store app to find the AORN eBook app. To find what version of the Android OS your device is running, navigate to Settings > About phone/About tablet and look for Android version.

I'm having trouble connecting to Google Play. What should I do?
Answer: Use Google Play and the Google Play Store app when you have a strong internet connection, either using Wi-Fi or mobile data. (You don't need to connect your device to a computer via USB cable to download the AORN eBook Mobile App on Google Play, since you will be accessing Google Play through your device's Wi-Fi or mobile data connection). If you think you're having connectivity issues with your network, contact your mobile or internet service provider.

Is my device supported to use Google Play?
Answer: Google Play is supported on hundreds of devices. If you are having problems using the Google Play website, or the Google Play Store app, check if your device is listed here. If your device isn't listed, it's possible that your device was recently released or may not be listed for other reasons. If you need further information on whether your device is supported for use with Google Play, contact your device manufacturer.

I've purchased the PC/Windows eBook from the AORN product catalog. How do I download and activate it on my PC/Windows computer?
