Center for Nursing Leadership

Nurse leaders control the largest part of a hospital labor budget, and in some cases the largest part of the overall budget. Overseeing this responsibility can mean the difference between an organization’s financial stability and turmoil. This full-day program will provide nurse leaders education on key financial concepts necessary for effectively managing the financial performance of perioperative services.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain measurements used by organizations to demonstrate financial health.
  • List and explain the process for justification of capital equipment
  • Identify causes for variation in budgeted versus actual spending
  • Calculate FTE need, including staffing mix and benefit time relief
