New DVD/CD package aims to answer "frequently asked questions."

The American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities has produced a new, 3-disc educational tool designed to help ASCs "prevent some procrastination" and "move forward on accreditation more efficiently," AAAASF President Lawrence S. Reed, MD, announced this week.

"After years of listening to physicians' questions about our accreditation process and what they need to get started," the accrediting body's Education Committee developed the DVD/CD package "to ease the pain and answer many frequently asked questions," says Dr. Reed in a press release.

The "Accreditation Assistant for the Busy Medical Practice" is available for $950 from the AAAASF's Web site. It includes a step-by-step video guide to the AAAASF accreditation program, a CD containing "Essential Documents and Resources for AAAASF Accreditation" and a video overview of the inspection process.
